Changes on business pricing structure, house sitting services and catchment area

This message is to give you notice of change on business pricing structure and house sitting services from April 2025.

I will not have a price increase this year as I'm aware of the cost of living crisis that is affecting everyone, however, I'm tweaking how I run my business so I can continue to provide you with my services without having any financial losses myself.

Key Points / Summary

🐾 Multi-booking discounts will no longer be offered

🐾 An extra mileage catchment area charge of £2.50 will be added for services over 5 miles from TF2 7FQ (up to a limit of 10 miles from TF2 7FQ).

🐾 House Sitting charges move from calendar day flat rate with all included to an overnight rate base from 6pm-8am (no walks included) with extra charge added on top for walks and/or visits from 8am-6pm.

🐾 Weekday house sitting services (Monday Evening to Friday Morning) will no longer be offered on long term. Weekday bookings are limited to 1 overnight only, depending on my availability on that week (I will be unable to book clients upfront).

🐾 Weekend house sitting services (Friday Evening to Monday Morning) will still be offered.

Full disclosure:

From 1st of April 2025, I will no longer offer multi-booking discounts.

I’m reducing my catchment area to 5 miles from TF2 7FQ, and any further than this (to a limit of 10 miles) will have an extra mileage charge of £2.50 on top of my regular services' prices.

If you are a regular client for dog walks/welfare visits and you are further than 5 miles, you are already on a rota that minimises my fuel expenses, meaning, if you continue to provide me with the flexibility to fit your walks/visits on the most time effective and fuel saving slot for my daily schedule, I can book all clients further than 5 miles on slots close together and I won't need to add the extra mileage charge as I'll be around the area so no ping-pongs or extra fuel expenses for me.

However, if you need your pet to be attended on a set time where I won't be around your area and I will need to commute only for your pet, the extra mileage of £2.50 will apply.

My dog sitting services are changing too, from a calendar day charge to an overnight charge.

There will be a base price of £40 for overnights on weekdays from 6pm to 8am Mon-Thurs. These are the hours that will be guaranteed for me to be present at your property with your pets. This price doesn't include walks.

Any other extra services needed outside of this timeframe (walks and welfare visits on a set time between 8am-6pm) which involve me driving to and from your property before finishing my other commitments for the day will be charged on top, with my regular charges for walks or welfare visits, according to each dog's individual needs.

This change is to give flexibility and fair pricing to customers that have family and friends that can attend to their dogs during the day or whose dogs that don't need many walks or visits during the day such as elderly dogs.

The base price for overnights for Fridays from 6pm, Saturdays & Sundays until Mondays 8am will remain at £50 per overnight (no walks included), i.e. the same price it was for calendar day charges, however, any walks or welfare visits needed between 8am-6pm will be an additional charge.

Due to change on circumstances on my husband's employment I won't be able to offer long term overnight house sitting services during weekdays for the foreseeable future, as he may need to travel overseas for work with last minute requests and I don’t have any alternative solution for my own dogs in case I will be away house sitting and he needs to travel last minute (Those that have already booked with me for this year will have their bookings honoured, so don't worry!). However, I will still take on ad-hoc jobs for single overnight stays providing that I have the availability. This is not a permanent change to my business and I'm hopeful I will be able to reinstate the weekdays long term house sitting service soon, when we will have a bit more stability and routine on his employment.
