Teeth Cleaning

Did you know that dental problems are quite common among cats and dogs? From the age of three years, eight out of ten pets have problems regarding their teeth or gums.

Good Health Begins in the Mouth

This is not only true for us humans, but also for cats and dogs. Clean, fresh breath and shining white teeth are good for animals too. If teeth and gums are thoroughly cared for, our four-legged friends can chew properly and enjoy their food. However, if something is wrong in their mouth, the owners often do not notice it: Our precious pets do not stop eating and they also cannot tell us, their owners, that something is wrong. In the end, a professional treatment of dental calculus, caries and resulting complications is necessary – off to the veterinarian dentist  to be put under a general anesthetic for de-scale and polish.

Ideal for healthy teeth and gums

What do we do to care for our teeth? We brush them! Brushing your teeth regularly is the most effective way to keep your mouth and teeth in good health – the same applies to our four-legged friends. Even though we have special animal feed for dental cleaning, for example special chewing bones, leftovers from food and bacteria still remain in the mouth. Thorough cleaning and preventative care are done best with toothbrushes, starting with finger brushes to electric brushes and then to innovative ultrasonic toothbrushes. Unlike electric brush models, a modern ultrasonic toothbrush also cleans the interdental spaces without any difficulties. It thoroughly removes bacteria and dental plaque, which can lead to gingivitis, dental calculus and resulting complications. Such deep cleaning is only possible due to innovative ultrasonic technology.

The best dental care starts when your pet is young, in order to grow accustomed to dental cleansing as soon as possible.

To avoid expensive treatment costs, a maintenance routine is advised as part of their regular grooming routine. If you are not able to clean your pet's teeth or if it has built up plaque or tartar, we can help.

Our ultrasonic pet toothbrush is silent, vibration free and no actual brushing or scrubbing is necessary.  This teeth cleaning system for dogs is very simple, non-invasive, effective & will benefit not only your pet’s teeth, but their health in general, as unhealthy teeth & gums will affect the pet’s whole body as the bacteria in their mouth travels through the bloodstream and can also cause heart conditions. You will notice their improved breath from day one!

Why is dental care so important for dogs?

Dogs have an impressive set of teeth, which is equally suitable for grasping and holding as well as for tearing and cutting individual pieces of meat. For this reason, the set of teeth of the dog is vital to survival. Even if the domesticated dog is no longer in need for hunting for food. However, veterinarians point out that 80 percent of all dogs over the age of three require dental or gum treatment. The diagnosis here is tartar, gingivitis and periodontitis, which can lead to tooth loss. A scheduled dental care is the best to keep dog teeth healthy. It is important to start with an animal-friendly care before the dog suffers from dental problems. Preferable as a puppy.

What causes tartar and gingivitis on pet's teeth?

Dental problems for pets and humans are similar. Plaque can form on the teeth. After food intake, food remains in the mouth of the pet, providing an optimal breeding ground for harmful bacteria. If this plaque is not removed by a comprehensive dental care, the plaque solidifies gradually by the interaction with individual salivary constituents to tartar. Painful gingivitis and periodontitis can develop as a result. If the pet smells unpleasantly from the mouth or denies the food, the causes are usually to be found in dental diseases. Once tartar has formed in the pet's teeth, it can be removed with weekly treatments using an ultrasonic toothbrush without anesthesia or by a veterinarian through de-scaling and polish, and  general anesthesia will be necessary for it.

Not all pets can have general anesthesia at the vets for de-scaling and polish due to health and age concerns, so this is when the ultrasonic teeth cleaning technology can help.

If you feel that your pooch could benefit from ultrasonic teeth cleaning, we are here to help!
